No tools needed, DIY Adjustable Weight Bar, Save $50
Weight equipment: we all want it but it's so expensive. This is the easiest do-it-yourself adjustable bar for lat pulldown, rows, or any other variations. We modeled it after the Prime RO-T8 long bar and short bar and spent a total of under $35!
Here are the links to the Prime RO-T8 long bar and the Prime RO-T8 short bar.
Here's how we did it...
First, we went to Menards and gathered our materials:
1. One zinc-plated punched steel tube (in-store only, no link): $17
2. One stainless steel u-bolt (link): $3
3. Two stainless steel quick snaps (link): $13
BONUS: These are the rounded prices before the 11% discount that Menards offers.
Second, we added the u-bolt to the middle of the bar. This is the part that will be attached to the cable on whichever machine you choose to use it on.
At the same time, we used a sharpie to label the increments on either side of the u-bolt. This creates consistency when using it and allows easier recording for your sets.
Lastly, clip on the quick snap hooks, remove them, and re-clip them as you want! No welding, cutting, or gluing is needed. However, a pro tip would be to use Loctite on the u-bolt to secure it.
That's it! You're ready to use your DIY adjustable bar. Let us know your favorite way to use your new bar!
